UN Food Rapporteur visits remote Manitoba First Nations

Olivier De Schutter, the UN Special Rapporteur on Food, visited some Manitoba First Nations in early May 2012.

Ottawa,ON - May16, 2012 The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) is happy to hear the UN Food Envoy in its preliminary comments on its trip around Canada.
The AMC worked diligently to ensure UN Special Rapporteur, Dr. Olivier De Schutter, and his staff, had the opportunity to see the remote communities as well as the effects of last years flood on the agricultural and fishing economies of our people in Manitoba.
Tar Sands revenues flow to foreign interests

Toronto, ON - The majority ownership of most tar sands production companies is held by foreign interests said ForestEthics. The startling research shows even Canadian companies are largely owned by foreign interests, causing many to question the federal government's push to streamline resource-based environmental reviews.

Oil spill in BCs Great Bear Rainforest
